18. Custom Designs
When the new owner of a motor cruiser contacted us to refit all the antennas and lights onto his radar arch, we enquired as to why they had been removed in the first place. Subsequent investigations found that the boat had recently been imported to the UK and would not fit under some of the bridges on the river that it was to be used on. To further complicate matters the manufacturers of the boat had only built two boats before going out of business.
Kilworth Marine Services designed and fitted a custom bracket to sit on the radar arch that had all the relevant gear mounted on it, and could be folded over whenever a low bridge
was encountered.
